How to read the labels

“High” means the selected sources strongly support a bounded claim, not that the sentence is infallible. “Medium” marks an integrative judgment on which informed readers may differ. No independent specialist review is complete.

C01 — What the verse says

Claim: Qur’an 21:30 states ratq followed by fatq attributed to God, but does not mention Big Bang terminology or a quantitative model.

Evidence: The primary text and classical lexical/exegetical discussion.

Confidence: High

Boundary: Divine attribution is the Qur’anic claim, not an empirical result produced by cosmology.

C02 — Classical interpretation

Claim: Al-Tabari, al-Qurtubi, and Ibn Kathir preserve multiple readings: joining/separation, differentiation of heavens and earths, and rain/vegetation being withheld then released.

Evidence: The exegetical texts themselves.

Confidence: High

Counterpoint: An exegete may prefer one reading. Preference does not erase historical plurality.

C03 — What the Big Bang is

Claim: The model is not a bomb expanding from a central point into external emptiness. It describes an expanding cosmic scale and an earlier hot, dense state.

Evidence: Official NASA explanation and modern cosmological modelling.

Confidence: High

Boundary: Global topology and the earliest quantum-gravity regime remain model-dependent.

C04 — Convergent evidence

Claim: Expansion, the CMB, primordial nucleosynthesis, and large-scale structure provide independent and mutually constraining support.

Evidence: Original expansion and CMB papers, COBE/FIRAS, Planck, PDG syntheses, and DESI.

Confidence: High

Boundary: Each line still involves calibration, inference, and explicit model assumptions.

C05 — Limits of empirical scope

Claim: The model alone does not establish creation from absolute nothing, divine agency, purpose, or a complete absolute first instant.

Evidence: Scope analysis of what the scientific sources model and measure.

Confidence: High

Boundary: Failure to empirically establish a metaphysical proposition is not proof of its negation.

C06 — The comparison judgment

Claim: A broad comparison between ratq-to-fatq and hot expanding cosmic history is possible; technical identity and exclusive exegesis are not demonstrated.

Evidence: An integration of text, interpretive plurality, and scientific description.

Confidence: Medium

Why medium: This is the author’s methodological judgment, not a sentence found in one source.

C07 — Revision without collapse

Claim: Planck and DESI display a highly successful standard framework alongside open tensions and possible revision in some components, especially dark energy.

Evidence: Final Planck analyses, DESI DR2 publication guides, and the July 2026 Lyman-alpha update.

Confidence: High

Boundary: Evolving-dark-energy hints are not a settled replacement for ΛCDM.

C08 — Relationship to the book

Claim: The forthcoming book generated the editorial question but does not function as evidence for public cosmological claims.

Evidence: The site’s disclosed editorial policy and link structure.

Confidence: High

Why these source types were selected

Source groupRoleLimitation
Qur’anic textPrimary basis of the wording and argument. Not a source for modern observational data.
Classical exegesisDocuments interpretive history and plurality. Not physics; reports within works require critical handling.
Hubble; Penzias and WilsonFoundational primary papers.Modern cosmology greatly exceeds their original data.
COBE and PlanckMission data and peer-reviewed collaboration analyses.Model and calibration assumptions remain explicit.
PDGCurrent specialist synthesis.A review is not a replacement for every original paper.
DESILive testing of expansion and dark-energy models.Current findings are evolving rather than final.

How to challenge or correct a claim

  1. Identify the claim ID rather than objecting to the page as a whole.
  2. Open the cited source and test whether it supports that level of specificity.
  3. State whether the dispute concerns wording, attribution, data interpretation, or integration.
  4. Provide a stronger primary or specialist source and explain how it changes the claim or confidence.

A valid correction may narrow a claim or reduce confidence. Agreement with the final interpretation is not required; layer discipline is.
